Since its creation in 1998 BaBB played an important role in our community...
- Acquired over $3.14 million in grant funds for infrastructure improvement.
- Acquired grants and administered facade improvement (9 buildings) and sprinkler installation (4 buildings) programs for downtown
- Completed Downtown Design Guidelines through a community-wide consensus building process
- Created two public spaces in the heart of downtown Brattleboro, the Robert H. Gibson River Garden and the Central Square Plaza.
- Developed a business recruitment packet and recruited new business
- Developed the Downtown Brattleboro logo
- Developed and distributed tens of thousands of copies of the Downtown Brattleboro Directory and Map through Vermont Welcome Centers, informational kiosks, and national travel shows.
- Provided technical assistance and education for local business
- Coordinated annual events, including Tropical Village Days, Decemberfest, Key into Jazz, and the Literary Festival
- Helped initiate the annual Strolling of the Heifers
- Worked with the Town to acquire downtown designation, which among other benefits secured $1 million in state funds for the Transportation Center and has enabled the Town to secure at least $75,000 annually for infrastructure projects
